Melodic Skeleton!

Where's the connection?!?!?!??!?!?
Jessica and I were very happy to find our Netflix in the mailbox when we returned from Seattle this weekend: Season 5, disk 1 of Bones! Nothing like desiccated human remains and heart throb FBI agents to get you to relax on a Saturday night. Interestingly enough this show gives interesting insight into a mystery I'm involved in and helps me on my quest. My putrefactive murder victims come in the guise of Rimsky-Korsavok's Opus 24, One Hundred Folk Songs. (Bear with me!) It is my job to find out what these infant pieces look like in the 1940s in the form of Kabalevsky's Opus 38, Twenty-Four Preludes in Each Major and Minor Key.
What I'm really trying to say is that I'm on a quest. All of Kabalevsky's pieces are based on a folk song from Rimsky-Korsakov's collection and it's my job to find them. The other thing I'm trying to say with this amazing metaphor is that it's hard and frustrating. Those melodies are hidden well. I've secured three of them. I shall not be daunted!
