Operation Spokane; Post 2: See ya, CHW and CRV!

Yesterday marked Jessica's last day as an employee of Catholic Healthcare West. I remember back to the day when we were deciding to move up to Roseville. Leaving Santa Barbara, with its job securities and friends, was terribly difficult. But then Jess got the call that she had an interview at CHW up near Sacramento, the very next afternoon. We jumped in the car and drove up the smelly 5, stopped somewhere to get Jess some proper interview clothes, and arrived at Kathy's around midnight. Since then it's been a wonderful job. Jessica works so hard and has learned so much. This afternoon we're having a BBQ with the work peeps.

Also last night we sold our old CRV. Yes, the window on the driver's side would roll up. Yes, it overheated, but just when Jessica was driving. Yes, the body rattles and the floor mats got moldy. But that's the car Jess and I drove up and down the state each holiday: 600 miles each trip. That's the car Jessica learned how to install a stereo system with her brother Justin. That's the car we made out in in college. That's the car we drove away married in (and had to fill with gas within 2 miles). That's the car Numi grew up in, chewing on watter bottles in the back and refusing to jump out (wimp!). Well it's now in loving hands, somewhere in the bay area.
Mvtabilitie looms.

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
